Dr. Markus Pertlwieser

Dr. Markus Pertlwieser is a distinguished expert in banking and FinTech, serving as a Senior Executive Advisor at Strategy& Germany, located in Frankfurt. With over 25 years of experience in consulting and the financial industry, he specializes in financial services, digital strategy, and operations. He has a strong focus on corporate restructuring, strategic repositioning, go-to-market strategies, ESG, regulation, and risk management.

Before joining Strategy&, Markus served as a senior advisor and member of the advisory council for several FinTech companies and was the CEO of a neo-bank focused on small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). Until the end of 2020, he held multiple management positions at a leading German bank, including as a Member of the Management Board and as Chief Digital Officer. He began his career at a top management consultancy, where he worked in strategy consulting for banks and insurance companies from 1999 to 2008.

Markus holds a diploma in economic sciences from the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) and a Ph.D. in economic sciences from the University of Kassel in Germany.
