Q: What did you do before joining Strategy& Middle East?

A: Before joining Strategy&, I completed my bachelor’s degree in civil engineering at the Lebanese American University, pursued a master’s degree in environmental engineering at the American University of Beirut, and worked as a program director at a tech startup.

Q: Why did you decide to join the firm?

A: During my engineering years, I discovered a passion for management consulting. It was an exciting way to blend my love for mathematics with the business world. Strategy& stood out because of its stellar reputation, the positive impact it has in the MENA region, the people and culture, and its strong presence in Lebanon, which is my home country.

Q: Why did you decide to complete your MBA?

A: I saw the MBA as a way to keep growing—both personally and professionally. I wanted to build a clearer vision for my career in the medium and long term, and the MBA did just that. Columbia Business School was my choice because of its strong international network and its location in New York City, offering endless opportunities for connections and experiences.

Q: How was your MBA experience? Can you share some highlights?

A: My first semester was tough, adjusting from a small village in Lebanon to the hustle and bustle of New York City. The intensity of the core semester and the social pressure to network were challenging. But once I found my rhythm, the experience became incredibly rewarding. Highlights include bringing 45 friends from school to visit Lebanon, traveling to over 15 places with friends from different cultures, and receiving the student service award at graduation.

Q: What did you contribute to the school while you were a student there?

A: At Columbia, I was president of the Pangea Advisors Club, the pro-bono consulting arm of the Tamer Center for Social Enterprise. I connected NGOs around the globe with MBA students to create impact on educational, environmental, and social fronts. I was also active in several clubs, including the MENA club, the football club, and the blockchain club.

Q: What has your return to Strategy& been like?

A: Returning has been incredible. Reconnecting with colleagues and seeing our mutual growth has been inspiring. I'm excited to dive back into projects, especially the social impact initiatives I started informally while away, and see them come to life.

Q: You’ve also been exploring a teaching career, what inspired you to do so?

A: Before Strategy&, I spent nearly a decade teaching, working with over 300 students. This solidified my commitment to education as a tool for change. During my MBA, I pitched a course to LAU that bridges the gap between academia and consulting. Now, I'm proud to teach GNE430, a first-of-its-kind course in Lebanon, with support from Strategy& and my colleagues who contribute as guest speakers.
