Q: Can you tell us about a time where you felt empowered as a woman on projects / by your colleagues or clients?
A: On one engagement, I was positioned as manager and the client had reservations about talking to me based on my gender. I communicated my concerns to the principal on the team. Instead of replacing me with a male job manager or taking on the face of manager himself in front of the client, he put me in the forefront and made it clear to the client that if he wanted to achieve his strategy he needed to listen and talk to me. Within weeks, the client was reaching out to me for my opinion and advice.
