The skills we look for will vary slightly depending on the level at which you join Strategy& and whether you choose to apply for our deals or corporate strategy practices. However, we typically value experienced hires who have some leadership and teamwork experience as you will be leading others as soon as you join. Additionally, we will want you to demonstrate the analytical skills required to solve challenging business problems and the communication skills required to effectively interact with our teams and clients. Ultimately, we look for the ability to work well in our inclusive teams and help to deliver value for our clients.
If you are keen to apply yourself on challenging projects to transform organisations and work with a team of like-minded people, we encourage you to apply.
You’ll get to work closely with a wide variety of UK, European and Global corporate clients (from large consumer goods companies, online retailers and FinTechs to charities, government departments and the public sector) and investors (private equity and investment funds). Together with your project team, you will bring unique and evidence-based insights to client questions.
Typical responsibilities will vary depending on your level of experience, but will likely include:
When joining as an experienced consultant, you will receive tailored training depending on your abilities and expertise, but will often join as part of a cohort with other experienced professionals.
There are also a variety of ways for you to continue your formal training while at the firm, including through training modules with MBA schools, optional upskilling courses, additional training days, and subscriptions to online resources.
Aside from the structured training programmes, you will refine and develop your strategy consulting toolkit by getting stuck in and learning on the job!
All experienced hires are assigned a career or talent coach, who will serve as a mentor and support you to ensure you get the right projects and opportunities to develop and progress your career at Strategy&
First you must submit your CV and Cover Letter online, and complete an online assessment.
If you pass the online assessment and CV / cover letter screening, you will be invited to a first round of 2 back-to-back interviews, which either takes places virtually or in-person at our London office.
The first round of interviews will typically comprise:
An unstructured case study interview (c.45 mins); You will first be asked a number of questions to help us learn more about who you are as a person (e.g. questions based around your background, personal experiences, previous professional work experience if relevant, and your motivations for joining Strategy&). You will then be given a unstructured consulting case study to work through with your interviewer
A structured case study interview (c.45 mins); You will be given a case study with a slide pack, which reflects a real client project we have worked on. You will have c.10 minutes to look over the information provided before being asked to develop some recommended solutions for the client.
If you successfully pass the first round, you will be invited to a second round of interviews. This will either be on the same day for in-person full day assessments, or during another assessment day. Note some experienced hires may be asked to complete a third round of interviews.
Strategy& is committed to attracting highly-talented individuals to join our team and welcomes applications from MBA graduates.
At present, we do not have any vacancies available tailored for MBA graduates. This page will be updated when this pathway re-opens in the future.
