Strategy& and Customer Led Transformation leader, PwC United Kingdom
Colin is the UK Strategy& Consulting Practice leader and a member of the EMEA Strategy& leadership team.
He started off Engineering strategy and start-ups (setting up and running skunkworks groups in Hutchison 3G when they first started in the UK incl a JV with the BBC), and then moved to PwC where most of his work has been in the telco/media/tech and retail industries across EMEA and Americas. He has recently returned from China where he led our digital consulting services including the establishment of Experience Centres and the rollout of our Business-Experience-Technology (BXT) led approach to advisory services. During this time he worked mainly in the retail and consumer space leading the development of digital services for brands such as Macys, Gap, Lidl and Li&Fung.
During his career he has specialised in new start-ups or Joint Ventures, and notably for three of them he was then seconded as launch CEO/COO to turn it from paper to market: one in Eastern Europe where he launched the fastest satellite-IPTV start up (which won awards for launch, marketing, and fastest subscriber growth); and one in the UK where he led the creation of a joint venture between 3 telcos in mobile advertising and commerce to compete with Google (which included securing EU Competition Commission regulatory clearance); and one as the global COO and Corp Dev Officer at HTC for six months in 2015/6 to help them restructure and launch Virtual Reality, IoT and Digital Healthcare businesses.
He has a Masters and PhD in Electrical Engineering and contributes extensively to international publications and press including print and TV appearances for the likes of Wall Street Journal, Bloomberg, and Financial Times.
