COVID-19: UK industry focus - Where next for aviation?

The word ‘unprecedented’ is used a lot to describe the effect of COVID-19, but it barely feels strong enough to describe the negative impact on the aviation industry.

Many parts of the airline industry were already operating fairly inefficiently pre-crisis. As such, the immediate drop in passenger numbers and bookings has hit hard and demanded an immediate response.

Air travel will pick up, but the aviation industry must act now in order to emerge stronger and more resilient from the catastrophic effects of the pandemic.

“Transformation in the industry was arguably long overdue, but it has taken a devastating catalyst to make that happen.”
