Faculty of Business named after Ghassan Barrage

Beirut’s private independent school Al Kafaat University (AKU) announced in February 2018 that it was renaming its Faculty of Business after Ghassan Barrage, a Strategy& alum who spent 13 years at the firm. Ghassan is receiving the honor in recognition of his immense contribution to the Al-Kafaat Foundation, which founded the university. The announcement was made by the Board of Trustees of the foundation and Ms. Lily Nadeem Shwayri.

Ghassan retired in 2014 but remains active, providing advice and counsel to philanthropies, NGOs, and social services organizations, in the areas of governance, as well as organization and management capabilities development.

AKU is an inclusive, community-driven institution of higher education which serves the diverse needs of Lebanese people. It provides open access to education and empowers students through innovative academic programming and applied, experiential learning.

The business faculty will be referred to as The Ghassan M. Barrage School of Business in all future communications and publications, and on official diplomas.
