As the venture capital space in the MENA region heats up, Saudi Technology Ventures has tapped Strategy& alum Ivan Jakovljevic to fill the role of chief development officer. Citing his extensive experience in strategy and technology as well as his extensive network in the region and beyond, the firm announced Ivan would be leading portfolio growth and firm development.
STV is the largest venture capital fund in the Middle East. It began operations in early 2018, and has more than US$500 million in capital. The firm’s LinkedIn announcement of Ivan’s appointment noted that he would be “bolstering our mission to build the region’s digital champions.”
Since leaving Strategy& in 2013, Ivan has held several positions at Google; first, he headed up travel and airlines in the MENA region, moving on to regional head of travel, finance, and government, and finally, head of new markets in the MENA region, responsible for building multimillion dollar businesses from the ground up.
Congratulations!
