Emkan Education and its co-founder and CEO, Strategy& alum Mounira Jamjoom, appeared in a February 29 article in Arab News highlighting the education conference organized by Emkan Education to bring together teachers and leaders from private and international schools. Titled “Making education happen,” the one-day conference was held at the Elaf Hotel in Jeddah and boasted 150 participants, who focused their discussions on how to overcome local challenges and make deep learning happen in every school. This is the second conference Emkan Education has hosted to provide a space for educators to share their expertise and best practices. Panel discussions and workshops in Arabic and English tackled such topics as educational leadership, inclusive education, and the characteristics of Generation Z learners.

Mounira’s role at Strategy& was as a senior research specialist in the Ideation Center. She departed in 2014 to start up Emkan Education, taking on a short-term position as assistant governor and advisor on the Public Education Evaluation Commission in Riyadh, as well. She is also founder of the recently launched Aanaab.com, an online professional development platform for teachers.
