Riyad Abou Jaoude gives startups a glimpse into the mind of an investor

At the 2020 Riyadh Biban Forum organized by Monsha’at for entrepreneurs, innovators, startups, and investors, which took place in late January, representatives from 120 Saudi and Gulf companies shared their experiences in entrepreneurship. Among them was former Strategy& colleague Riyad Abou Jaoude who today is a managing director at MEVP, and sits on the boards of three companies, each in a different sector and geography. Riyad delivered a workshop that demonstrated what investors look for when assessing a business, showing startups how to “get into the mind of the investor.”

In October, Riyad published a paper on LinkedIn that examined the evolving MENA fintech landscape. His portfolio at MEVP covers technology investments in transportation, logistics, e-commerce, fashion tech, fintech, wellness tech, and SaaS. While at Strategy&, Riyad worked in the telecom, media, and technology practice; and he was a co-founder of the Beirut mini-burger eatery Burger Bites.
